"I’ve written a song for my wife."
Fred was married 72 years to his wife. He wrote a song for her when he saw a songwriting contest advertised in the paper, and he couldn’t resist writing one for her. She had just passed a month earlier.
They had been together since the 30′s.
96 years old, Fred couldn’t play an instrument or sing, so he simply mailed in his lyrics, attaching his story in the letter. When the studio holding the contest saw his song and read his letter, they decided to record it for him and play the song for him to hear.
I don’t care. This means a lot.
This made me cry

i found this yesterday and i couldn’t stop crying
If Hoyoung Lee’s concept printer becomes reality, you’ll never throw away another pencil stub or buy another ink cartridge. The pencil printer separates the wood from pencils and uses the lead to print documents. There’s even a built-in eraser component that allows you to remove text from a page and reuse the paper, so you’ll be saving money and trees.
INNOVATIVE MINDS!!! Blooming and blossoming all around! This is brilliant!
#so i was thinking about the royal baby and why it’s causing such a stir #beyond the crazy rituals and dudes in feathers and cannons and shit #and i think part of it is timing #it just seems like there is NO good news these days #injustice and sex scandals #and this is just a nice burst of good news #a baby was born #and hopefully it will be loved #and prince william will have learned from his mother and show the kid that not everyone has the privilege they do #and then there’s that i honestly think from the few times we see them that they just look happy #they look like a happy couple #and now a happy family #and i hope they are#and just because we’re focusing a lot on this right now #it doesn’t mean everything else goes away #it’s just a nice something to calm you down and remind you that not everything is horrible
